Adult Tennis Lessons in Sarasota
Private, Semi-Private & Small Group Tennis Instruction
Whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time, returning to tennis after years away, or simply hoping to feel more confident on the court, I offer patient, encouraging tennis instruction designed especially for adults.
My goal is simple: to help you learn the game in a way that feels approachable, enjoyable, and fun. You don’t need to arrive with experience — just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Private lessons offer one-on-one instruction tailored to your goals, experience, and pace of learning.
Whether you’re brand new to tennis or looking to strengthen specific parts of your game, we can focus on the skills that matter most to you.
Private lessons focus on:
- Forehand and backhand fundamentals
- Serving and returning
- Volleys and net play
- Movement and court positioning
- Scoring and tennis terminology
- Singles and doubles basics
- Match play
- Confidence-building and personalized practice goals
No previous tennis experience is necessary.

Want to learn with a friend?
Semi-private lessons are a fun way for two players to improve together while still receiving plenty of individual attention.
Bring a friend, spouse, neighbor, or tennis partner and enjoy learning the game together. Semi-private lessons can be especially helpful for players who want to build confidence before joining larger clinics or social play.

Small group clinics combine instruction, drills, games, and plenty of time hitting the ball in a relaxed and social setting.
Clinics are a great choice for adults who enjoy learning alongside other players at a similar level while developing the skills needed for recreational tennis.
Have a few friends who want to learn together? I’m happy to help you create your own small-group clinic.
New to Tennis? You’re in the Right Place.
Never played before? Perfect.
You do not need to know the rules before your first lesson.
You do not need to own an expensive racquet.
You do not need to “get in shape first.”
And you definitely do not need to worry about keeping up with experienced players.
Teaching adult beginners is at the heart of what I do. I understand that learning something new as an adult can sometimes feel intimidating, and I believe the tennis court should be a place where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, laughing, learning, and celebrating your progress.
What to Expect at Your First Lesson
Your first lesson begins with a simple conversation about your tennis experience — even if the answer is “none!” — and what you’d like to accomplish.
From there, we’ll get on the court and start hitting.
I’ll introduce fundamentals in manageable steps, offer plenty of encouragement and feedback, and help you build skills at a pace that works for you.
You won’t be expected to know anything before you arrive.
My hope is that you leave your first lesson having learned something new, feeling more confident than when you arrived — and looking forward to getting back on the court.
